Why does practicing at home always seem so difficult? This workshop aims to demystify your home practice through addressing the common barriers in getting started, and offers tools towards designing an adaptable practice reflective of your personal needs.
Once we learn some basic components to the intention and construction of the practice, the creativity and nowness of the home practice can begin to serve us positively.
Spread over the course of two Sunday evenings, this all levels workshop will include:
--Discussing the many at home variables that play a role in getting started, and how to designate/create a welcoming space for practice.
--Setting intentions and goals for practice influenced by physical, mental and emotional factors
--Learning techniques and function of both breathwork and meditation
--Reviewing basic anatomy, including postural assessment to understand postural tendencies, working with injury and use of props to support alignment
--Learning to construct a sequence and the best flow of poses to warm up safely, understanding the anatomy and function of a pose in relation to your structure and functionality
--Developing a 15/20 minute practice the first week and a 30/45 minute practice during week two.
