San Jose Jazz welcomes international ukulele virtuoso, Taimane, back to San Jose for an intimate show at Cafe Stritch. Famed for her dexterous touch, unique sound and passionate performances, Taimane brings her Spring Eternal Tour to San Jose riding a giant wave of momentum. In 2017, Taimane launched herself into the national psyche selling out shows from coast to coast and performing to crowds of over 10,000 at venerable venues the Gorge Amphitheater and Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Earlier this year, Taimane made her debut at the famed Staples Center in Los Angeles electrifying an audience of over 20,000 people. A few days later, the Playing For Change organization (dedicated to bringing hope & inspiration through music) released a Taimane video, Pluto (http://bit.ly/PFCpluto), that garnered over 100,000 views within a week.
A special night awaits on Saturday, May 19 at Cafe Stritch. From Bach to rock, flamenco infernos to tribal hymns, Taimane creates an enthralling experience that uplifts all. Come see the passion, talent and grace that have garnered Taimane over 8 million video views and a legion of fans worldwide. Advance ticket purchase recommended.
«Taimane rocks the stage with a sensual vibrancy and a white hot talent that captivates and beguiles!” -Pierce Brosnan (aka 007)
“Every so often we discover an artist as he or she is about to emerge into a much bigger arena. These experiences have included Chris Botti, Trombone Shorty, Kamasi Washington and Lake Street Dive. Now, we have a new discovery — Taimane. She's destined for a big, bright future, and I encourage you to catch her show as soon as you can.”-Bruce Labadie, Artistic and Festival Director of San Jose Jazz

NOTE FROM TAIMANE:
“What a year! Playing in front of 20,000 people at the Staples Center in Los Angeles is an absolute career highlight — an amazing rush. And the following week, Playing for Change shares a song from my new album with people around the world. We recorded the video outside — on a spectacular perch overlooking one of the most beautiful places on earth, Ka'a'awa Valley on Oahu 🌿🌈 — an experience I'll always hold close. And now with spring blossoming, it's time for new growth — aka a fresh mainland tour. Last year’s San Jose shows were a blast — two packed, buzzing rooms. This year, San Jose is the last stop of my spring tour. Stoked to go out with a bang!”
