Its doors open at 5:00 P.M. The reading starts at 5:30. Come early, get a glass of wine, stay after for something to eat. Enjoy the poems and music in between. Admission is free.
Sally Ashton served as Santa Clara Poet Laureate, 2011-2013. She is the author of Some Odd Afternoon, Her Name Is Juanita, and These Metallic Days, and is Editor-in-Chief of DMQ Review, an online journal featuring poetry and art. Recent work appears in Brevity, Zyzzyva, Poet Lore, Los Angeles Review of Books, and Fish Anthology: First Prize Fish Flash Fiction. She teaches at San José State University and in a wide variety of workshops including Disquiet: International Literary Program in Lisbon, Portugal.
Nils Peterson is Professor Emeritus in English at San José State University, Co-founder of PCSJ, and Emeritus board member for PCSJ. In 2009, he was chosen as the first Poet Laureate of Santa Clara County. He has published poetry, science fiction, and articles on subjects as varied as golf and Shakespeare. His chapbooks include Here Is No Ordinary Rejoicing, Driving a Herd of Moose to Durango, For This Day, The Revenge of the Socks, and For This Day II. A collection of poems, The Comedy of Desire edited and introduced by Robert Bly, was published by The Blue Sofa Press. An e-chapbook memoir, Talk In The Reading Room, was published by Wordrunner Press early in 2014
