Introduction to Animal-Assisted Therapy is a 2-hour seminar providing an overview to the field of animal-assisted therapy. Topics covered will include: common types of therapy animals and animal-assisted therapies; animal selection and training; animal welfare and care; insurance and the differences between service animals, therapy animals, emotional support animals and pets. Some of the animals covered will include therapy dogs, cats, horses, farm animals, reptiles, birds and wild animals/ecotherapy. This seminar will be taught by the staff and animals of DreamPower Horsemanship in Gilroy, CA and will take place at DreamPower (7460 Crews Road, Gilroy, CA). Registration fees are: Prelicensed $35 advance, $45 at the door; licensed MFT/LCSW/LPC $45 advance, $55 at the door (no CEU's); Psychologists $75 advance, $100 at the door (2 CEU's available from BOP).
