The Naked Bootleggers: Local favorites from the Santa Cruz Mountains bring a fresh approach to MOUNTAIN MUSIC. Playing original music inspired by where we live and the people who surround us, local musicians Don Mackessy (banjo), Ona Stewart(guitar), S.T. Young(guitar, washboard, harmonica), Chad Bowen (bass), Jeremy Lampel (mandolin), Will Fourt (Dobro) are bridging the gap between old time and contemporary music with captivating vocal harmonies, lyrical creativity and that high lonesome sound of old.
HILLSTOMP: The Portland Oregon junkbox blues duo is infamous for digging through the dumps and forgotten backwoods of American music, recycling traditional elements into a refreshing and distinctive brand of do-it-yourself hill country blues stomp. North Mississippi trance blues, a bit of Appalachia, and a dash of punkabilly come clanging and tumbling from assorted buckets, cans and BBQ lids, all drenched in rambunctious slide guitar. Somehow it works. Despite their homemade instruments and novel approach, Hillstomp is no novelty act. Hillstomp's memorable live performances tap into a magic that cannot be rehearsed, converting outlaws and traditionalists alike from skeptics into preachers.
Patrick Maguire plays in a folk and Americana style and has one of those rare super distinctive voices. He was born to sing & play music. As a child, he grew up surrounded by all types of musical influences. From Bluegrass (Tony Rice, Ricky Scaggs & Doc Watson) to Folk (Kate Wolf, Bob Dylan, Donovan, and The Mama's & The Papa's) to Classic Rock (THE WHO) to Oldies (Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Ritchie Valens, The Everly Brothers, and Dion & The Belmonts).
