NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS and CHANGES FOR 2017!!!
1. Our NEW house drummers will provide all drumming for eliminations and finals.
2. Finals will be at the SJSU Event Center on July 1st (no longer at the DoubleTree)
3. Hipbands or hip heis will be permitted for Finals. It should not be more than 4” wide.

— Contestants will be given their solo numbers on Friday, June 30, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. by the Bayshore Ballroom of the DoubleTree Hotel San Jose.
— No i’is or hand-held objects will be permitted
— During finals, two to three dancers will perform at a time, also
— We ask that finalists please stay in costume during the announcement of winners on Saturday. You will
be on video and photos will be taken so dress appropriately.
— All soloists will be given free admission to the Tahiti Fete on Saturday, July 1st. even if they are not a finalist. Must bring Solo number to gain admission. They will check in through the dancer’s entrance.
— For Eliminations and Finals, dancers must perform in pareo. Length of the pareo should not be below the knees, however, know that judges also dislike very short pareos. Headpieces are optional.
— The winners of the finals are those who receive the three top highest scores in each division.
— Overall Tane and Vahine Winners will each receive $500 plus a complimentary Air Tahiti Nui flight to Tahiti to compete in the International Ori Tahiti Competition in Papeete, Tahiti. This event hosted by Tumata Robinson and Manouche LeHartel will happen in November, 2017.
